A recent article in the Guardian asks an intriguing question in the title, “Can a Piece of Software Look After Your Elderly Parent?”
Can a computer provide senior care?
We have an answer, based on decades in the Senior Home Care industry, as well as our own experiences finding care for our own loved ones.
The answer is “No.”
Can it help caregivers be better at their jobs? Perhaps. We use technology everyday to help provide care for our clients. Our caregivers clock in on their smartphones and we use social media to communicate with potential clients and inform our current clients and staff.
But until there are major advances in artificial intelligence and robotics, the human touch will still be at the core of providing care for your loved ones.
In a recent interview about our philosophy of care, AHE CEO Gavin Densmore talked about why we are different. He said that he gets up everyday, and his first thought consists of one thing. Namely, how can we make things better for our employees and our clients. No machine is ever going to put forth that kind of effort.
